SCSSV LEAK REPAIR PROCEDURE

     DOWNLOAD PROCEDURE

Company:

Field/Area:

Well:

Platform:

Objectives

1.                  Correct SCSSV control line leak using SEALMAKER International procedure and sealant.

2.                  Return SCSSV to full operational capabilities.

Procedure

1.                  Meet with field personnel; review field history and verify condition of well as matching information on LEAK REPAIR Data Sheet.

2.                  Install SEALMAKER International test manifold between control line from panel and control line port.

3.                  Pressure up SCSSV control system; establish leak rate; determine severity of leak.

4.                  Take pressure readings as follows:

a)                 Casing pressure;

b)                 Control line pressure; and

c)                  Flowing wellhead pressure.

5.                  Run troubleshooting diagnostics to establish source of leak.

6.                  Based on source and severity of leak, determine sealant profile for SEALMAKER International repair.

7.                  Adjust sealant profile based on well conditions.

8.                  Utilize SEALMAKER International manifold injection system; load with customized sealant.

9.                  Displace sealant into control line port; continue pumping sealant until calculated volume of valve and control line is full of sealant.  (Option:  use panel pump to pump sealant and maintain pressure during SEALMAKER International sealing procedure.)

10.             Pump sealant until seal begins to establish; continue pumping sealant until pressure on control line port is 5000 psi.

11.             As seal establishes, pump sealant to maintain injection pressure at 5000 psi until pressure bleed off ceases and leak is sealed.

12.             After leak is sealed, verify no pressure drop for a minimum of four (4) hours.

13.             When no leak is evident, cycle valve 4 to 6 times with SCSSV equalized; verify that seal is holding.

14.             Return well to production with SEALMAKER International manifold in place; pump sealant, as necessary, to maintain pressure at 5000 psi; verify no pressure drop for a minimum of one (1) hour.

15.             Close needle valve to control line port to maintain 5000 psi on SCSSV.

16.             Disconnect SEALMAKER International manifold and reinstall control panel control line; adjust control panel control line pressure to normal operation pressure; open needle valve to return SCSSV control to panel.

17.             Monitor pressures and producing well conditions for a minimum of one (1) hour; verify no leaks in SCSSV system.

18.             Deliver and discuss Procedure outlining suggested maintenance of safety valve after sealing of leak.

19.             Monitor pressures and producing well conditions until departure from platform.
